Scorching Love by Jonaxx.

In Scorching Love, the rising action commences with Nieves Solanna Galvez, also known as Snow, when she arrives at Costa Leona, facing backlash from the locals due to her family’s actions. Snow is determined to at least try to change her image, fights the locals’ apathy, but is continually met with frustration. This is her family’s legacy weighing against her, and her actions are seen through the lens of family. Snow is pushing herself to the limit to show that she can make a change, but she can’t help but feel as if she is stuck in a family legacy of exploitation. She is fighting against a strained relationship with her father due to his expectations and wanting to earn his trust. Their relationship is further complicated due to several social barriers that are continuously dismantling her and Sibal’s romance. Percival Archer Riego, known as Sibal, is torn between his loyalty to Snow and his family, making him more conflicted, for his family is heavily dependent on him and he is deeply responsible to protect them.

He grapples with the possibility of betraying his roots, and if pursuing a relationship that could harm his community is, in fact, selfish. Maria Emilia Galvez-Sevilla, or Marem, is Snow's aunt. She is a consistent and stubborn opposition to their relationship, which makes things worse as she attempts to thwart it over and over, creating a precarious situation for both Snow and Sibal. Marem is also a victim of a past heartbreak related to a Riego, which makes her think that Sibal and Snow’s relationship is a threat. “I knew from the start that being with him would mean battling more than just my own feelings,” is a quote from Snow that demonstrates her realization of the complexity of the situation. Sibal, on his part, is starting to doubt if he is good enough for Snow, due to their different realities, and quietly muses, “Can I really offer her anything beyond my love, when my family depends on me?”

What can you do for love? The climax of this story is the big confrontation being driven by Marem's intervention and the heavy social pressures that weigh upon Snow and Sibal. The confrontation with Marem makes Snow and Sibal realize the realities of their situation and figure out how hard it is to decide for their future as a couple. The pressures of family expectations and social differences build up into a fierce emotional conflict, gauging the strength of their relationship. A key line at this point is when Sibal utters, "How can we ever be together when everything is against us?" His hopelessness and the crushing notion that their love cannot succeed is due to his family's expectations. On the inside, he suffocates, feeling the love he has for Snow is a burden rather than a blessing, and he fears the cost it would inflict on the living of his family. Snow, although she is powerfully feeling it just the same, is equally shocked, wondering if she would be strong enough to overcome the ingrained prejudices and family distinctions. She wonders if she would be foolish to think that love would conquer all after all, and pleads inwardly, "Should I be selfish to desire it even if it ruins everything around us, even my family and his?"

The falling action of the story shows how Snow and Sibal fought with what comes next and not to fall against Marem's deeds. They handle the rocky road to sort out their personal and relationship issues, with the aim to remove the ghosts from their past once and for all and pave the way to build a bridge between their two different worlds. The characters navigate forgiveness and empathy in an eternal quest to carve out a future where their love will triumph over adversities that had seemed to be overwhelming. When Snow insists that she will fight for their love, even if it means denying everything she thought she knew, revealing her determination to the expectations and assumptions standing in the way of their love.

Snow commits to changing her family's legacy with the hope of a better future where love and equality would reign, so she decides to confront her father and aunt about their part in maintaining the divide. Meanwhile, Sibal realized that against all odds, he will fight for his love for Snow. He imagines a future with Snow where their love not only continues but also brings the community's divisions to an end, and that their love would be the symbol of peace between the Riego and the Galvez Family. While he was thinking to himself, "Maybe, just maybe, we can bring about a new beginning for everyone, where our families can finally be at peace with each other," he decides to have a frank and truthful talk with his parents about his feelings for Snow.
