If I could go back in time

If I could go back in time,

Before COVID changed our climb,

Life was simple, clear, and near,

With friends and family always here.

No masks to hide a smiling face,

No screens to take the teacher’s place.

We played outside, met face to face,

Shared meals and laughter in each space.

Then COVID came and changed it all,

Empty streets and silent halls.

We stayed at home, wore masks each day,

Learned new digital ways to stay.

Online classes, virtual chats,

No busy parks or crowded mats.

No festivals loud, no close embraces,

Lost traditions, empty places.

Yet in the stillness, we found strength,

To keep connected at great length.

Though distant now, we held on tight,

Hoping for a future bright.

Now COVID’s gone, we gather nearby,

But some old habits disappear.

Though we meet and celebrate,

The world feels shifted, different state.

We cherish closeness all the same,

But screens remain a bigger game.

Some traditions slowly fade,

As new ways live and old one's trade.

What if COVID never came?

Would life feel just the same?

Now that we can choose anew,

How will we keep what’s good and true?
