“Knowledge is a paradox. The more one understands, the more one realizes the vastness of his ignorance.”

This is a quote from Netflix's Arcane a beloved show of mine which highlights the idea that gaining knowledge actually increases your awareness of how much one does not know. It expresses a paradox: as you learn more and your understanding deepens, you begin to see the complexity of the world around you and recognize that your previous assumptions were limited. This expanded perspective reveals an ever-widening horizon of unknowns, making ignorance feel larger.

In other words, knowledge doesn't just fill gaps—it also opens up new questions and uncertainties. Instead of making a person feel completely knowledgeable or certain, true understanding often brings humility about one’s limitations and the vastness of what remains to be discovered.

This concept can also be linked to philosophical ideas like Socrates' famous claim, "I know that I know nothing," emphasizing wisdom as an awareness of one’s own ignorance. It’s a reminder that intellectual growth involves continuous curiosity and acknowledgment that learning is an endless journey.
